Jennifer Darcy


Jennifer is an associate in the litigation and dispute resolution department with McEvoy Corporate Law. She is experienced in advising on a broad range of contentious matters, with a particular focus on High Court and Commercial Court banking and corporate disputes, civil fraud and insolvency matters.

Jennifer joined the team in February 2018. She trained in a top-ranked Irish law firm and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Ireland, and also in England and Wales, in 2013. Following qualification, Jennifer worked for a US law firm in London where she represented a global investment bank in relation to a large multi-jurisdictional regulatory investigation in respect of the foreign exchange trading market. She then worked for a boutique commercial litigation disputes firm in London where she gained a wealth of experience in complex banking and financial disputes including claims against large financial institutions in respect of the mis-selling of financial products and alleged manipulation of LIBOR, and acting for a fund manager in relation to significant Commercial Court proceedings involving disputes as to fees associated with investment of capital investment funds into complex structured products.

Jennifer is committed to delivering focused and strategic advice to clients in respect of often detailed and complex high-value disputes.

Representative Matters

  • Advising the beneficiaries of a pension fund in relation to the alleged fraudulent misappropriation of over €6 million of their pension assets. This is a cross-border matter involving multiple parties including various financial institutions
  • Advising a company and its directors in respect of a dispute relating to the buy back of a shareholder’s shares and the defence of that shareholder’s claim for oppression under section 212 of the Companies Act 2014
  • Representing a company and its sole shareholder in a claim against a large financial institution and the appointed receiver in the company’s claim for breach of agreement and present and future losses.
  • Advised the petitioners in a number of compulsory liquidations of companies
  • Assisted in acting for the Examiner of a Circuit Court Examinership of Ryco Book Protection Services Limited
